I swept the weeping willows
under my pillowcase.

there is no time for grief
or for hanging too low.

brush people on the shoulder,
tap consciousness into them –
remind them of chlorophyll-ed life.

we made shelter;
shadowed and covered the wildlife
within us.

we must be the symbol of dreams.
